Kitsilano is a neighbourhood in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Known also as "Kits", it is located between Alma Street to Burrard Street from West to East and West Broadway to Point Grey Road. With a population of 40,595 people as of 2006, the area is mostly residential with two main commercial areas, West 4th and West Broadway. Notable landmarks in Kitsilano include the Burrard Bridge, Kitsilano Beach and the Museum of Vancouver and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.
The neighbourhood hosts a number of annual events such as the Vancouver International Children's Festival, Bard on the Beach, which is an outdoor Shakespeare festival with the backdrop of the mountains to the North, the Celebration of Light fireworks competition.
